Acoustic steel doors are specifically designed to reduce sound, helping to keep nuisance noise to a minimum.
Typically, they may apply to buildings and rooms within the commercial, industrial, retail or leisure sectors. Education and media centres, particularly those with theatres and production rooms can also benefit from acoustic doors.
The following dB reduction ratings provide a guide to the levels of noise reduction our Defender Soundguard can provide:
Soundguard 35: Rw35db – Loud speech audible but difficult to distinguish
Soundguard 38: Rw38db – Loud speech faintly audible but difficult to distinguish
Soundguard 42: Rw42db – Loud speech faintly audible but cannot be distinguished
Soundguard 47: Rw47db – Shouting audible but cannot be distinguished
Soundguard 52: Rw52db – Shouting barely audible
Soundguard 35: Rw35db – Loud speech audible but difficult to distinguish
Soundguard 38: Rw38db – Loud speech faintly audible but difficult to distinguish
Soundguard 42: Rw42db – Loud speech faintly audible but cannot be distinguished
Soundguard 45: Rw45db – Shouting audible but cannot be distinguished
Soundguard 47: Rw47db – Shouting barely audible
As well as reducing noise levels, acoustic security doors such as the Defender Safeguard also provide protection from attack. Available in a wide range of sizes and configurations, they offer the same protection as our other steel security doors, and come with ‘fitter friendly’ bolted corners and galvanised material throughout.
All of our acoustic steel doors are CE marked, providing confidence that this product meets the relevant European safety and environmental requirements.
