A PRU in the Suffolk area required three steel doorsets within their building that were strong enough to withstand high usage and possible deliberate damage. Vision panels (windows) were also needed as staff have to have sight of both sides.
One doorset was the entrance door and so it was essential that it was both aesthetically pleasing and very durable.
For the three doorsets required, Metador’s Defender Safeguard steel door was chosen due to its high strength and versatility.
The Defender Safeguard steel door as standard is manufactured from two 1.5mm galvanised steel skins, folded and mechanically fixed to form a strong and rigid 45mm thick door leaf. Each door is filled with internal steel strengtheners and mineral wool for the ultimate in strength and insulation.
The range is available with a wide range of vision panel and louvre options and can be created in any RAL or BS standard colour powder coat. Marine-grade powder-coat finishes are also available on request.
For the entrance door the double doorset in an eye-catching red shade was chosen, and a double and single doorset inside the building in calming grey.
The strong profile of the Defender Safeguard gives the door the durability required while the vision panels allow for visibility as well as proving extra light.
The hard-wearing powder coating on each door will allow it to withstand heavy usage and thanks to our 15 year warranty as standard on doorsets these doors will see many pupils through their education.
